On September 25, at 5:00 in the afternoon, musicians from Conservatory Lab’s Dudamel orchestra will perform on the stage of the Strand theatre with dancers from the BalletRox dance company, in a collaborative concert of music and movement. The concert will feature highlights from the repertoire of both groups individually, in addition to combined numbers.
The collaboration began during Conservatory Lab’s 2011 Summer Enrichment Program, during which the two groups held several rehearsals together. Students explored the connections between movement and music, from the locomotion of their bow arms to the flow of air through their lungs. This opportunity was made possible through a grant from the Hunt Alternatives Fund. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for this exciting event!
Tickets will be $10 per adult, $5 per student or senior citizen, or $15 per family.
