Conservatory Lab Named Exemplary School by Arts Schools Network

Conservatory Lab Charter School has been designated a 2014-2016 Exemplary School by Arts Schools Network, the nation’s largest professional membership organization of specialized arts schools. Arts Schools Network, the nation’s largest professional membership organization of specialized arts schools, has designated nineteen Exemplary Schools for 2014-2016. The organization created the designation to honor member schools’ excellence in continuing improvement and to recognize their efforts in strategic evaluation of purpose, operations, and educational programs. This honor signifies that Conservancy Lab Charter School has successfully completed a self-evaluation in the following areas: strengths, areas for improvement, consistency with school-wide or program purposes, aspirations, and future challenges.

Conservatory Lab Charter School empowers a diverse range of children as scholars, artists, and leaders through a unique and rigorous academic and music education. It enriches the larger community through performance, service, and collaboration. As a laboratory school, Conservatory Lab Charter School develops and disseminates innovative educational approaches that will positively impact children in other schools and programs. At Conservatory Lab, school leaders and faculty believe in the power of music and learning to transform the lives of students and their families. At the core of the school’s pioneering curriculum is the hybrid of two proven and exemplary programs: El Sistema and Expeditionary Learning. Both programs emphasize the experience of breaking through barriers in the pursuit of excellence – creating a culture and habit of perseverance. Taken together, these two programs motivate and nurture students to become dedicated scholars, compassionate leaders, and skilled musicians.

The Arts Schools Network is pleased to recognize the achievements of this stellar school and congratulates Conservatory Lab Charter School for its highest quality instruction in arts education.
