Part of the discovery and exploration that the 2nd graders are engaged in this month has to do with the different types of intelligence that one can have. Yes, that is right, there is not only one kind of intelligence but at least eight! These are: Logical – numbers smart, linguistic – word smart, naturalist – nature smart, spatial – picture smart, kinesthetic – body smart, musical – music smart, interpersonal – people smart and intra-personal – self smart.
The students each chose one of these as their own to write about and draw. The end results were delightful and on exhibit on the 2nd grade classroom door for everyone to admire and to wonder about. Which kinds of smart am I?
