Blaine Yesselman was born and raised in Cambridge, MA. After attending Syracuse University, she moved to New York City where she was a middle school and high school teacher for six years. Her work in the Bronx and Brooklyn created a fire for teacher leadership that led her to earn her MA in school leadership, focused on teacher leadership, from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. After another four years of teaching in Cambridge Public Schools and earning her principal license through the Principal Residence Network, Blaine stepped into the role of Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Phoenix Academy Lawrence in Lawrence, MA where she was a part of a school turnaround process, and helped to lead the school to restructure its academic program, leading to a significant increase in student achievement. Blaine is passionate about creative approaches to teaching and learning, and building strong relationships with students, families and her team. She is excited to join the CLCS team and to help the school grow an innovative and powerful humanities program that has music and the arts at its core. Outside of school, she can be found running, exploring, listening to music and trying new food!
