Hilary Shea is a career educator. She began her teaching career first in Lynn, MA, then at a bilingual school in El Salvador and was most recently at the Mason Pilot School within Boston Public Schools. During her ten years at the Mason Pilot School she served as a 4th/5th grade looping teacher in addition to being the school’s data coordinator and a curriculum leader.
Outside of the classroom Ms. Shea worked with the Data Wise Institute at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and taught graduate courses in literacy and special education at Northeastern University. For the last two years she has worked for the Boston Public School’s Special Education department as a district-level Inclusion Specialist. In this role Ms. Shea coordinated and led numerous professional developments as well as conducted program reviews and developed district-wide strategies for instructional improvement.
Ms. Shea received her BA from Middlebury College, her master’s in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and her administrative certification through the Principal Residency Network at Northeastern University.
Ms. Shea is passionate about educational improvement and equity and believes in the possibility that all students can thrive and succeed when provided with high-quality teaching and learning opportunities.
