Jessica Shank is starting her second year at Conservatory Lab and her 8th year teaching. She was born and raised in Connecticut. She completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Hartford and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-6), Special Education (K-12) and Behavioral Studies. She then went on to further her education at Saint Joseph’s University where she received a Master’s degree in Education in Research Interventions (RTI). She taught as a Special Education teacher for six years at a middle school in New Britain, CT and was Lead Teacher for 7th grade for one year in New Britain. After teaching in New Britain, she moved to Houston, TX where she taught Social Studies for 5th and 6th grade for one year. After Houston, she moved to Boston, MA where she is now a Learning Specialist at Conservatory Lab. She is very passionate about her students and believes that all students deserve an environment in which they can thrive, while becoming lifelong learners. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, hiking, kayaking and traveling.
