Matt Chapuran was most recently the Managing Director of the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, where he led the operations for Boston’s oldest resident theatre company. During his tenure, he created Clarendon Hall, the theatre’s year-round rehearsal space, established Fresh Ink Theatre as the Lyric Stage’s new play development partner, and supported the launch of the Front Porch Arts Collective. Previously, he was the Managing Director of The Nora Theatre Company during its early stages of developing the Central Square Theater, and Stoneham Theater, and the Institutional Giving Manager at the Huntington Theatre Company. He spent seven years working in affordable housing at The Community Builders and Boston Capital. For over 25 years, he has performed, taught and directed improvisational theatre, most recently with Improvised History and as one half of the Angriest Show in the World. He is a graduate of Boston College with an MFA from Emerson College. He writes occasionally for Official Magazine, has had short plays produced as a part of The T Plays and the Boston Theatre Marathon, and co-wrote two horror musicals for ImprovBoston. He lives in Roslindale with his wife and three daughters, all of whom attend Boston Public Schools.
