Teachers Present At National Conference On Expeditionary Learning
Over 800 teachers from across the country came to Baltimore, Maryland on February 28th-March 2nd to attend the National Conference on Expeditionary Learning. Attendees engaged in round-table discussions, master classes, and presentations on topics related to Expeditionary Learning. Teachers had the opportunity to meet with colleagues from other schools to share ideas and resources with one another.
“It was great to talk to other teachers who passionate about their work-who are doing the same sorts of things we are doing,” explained K2 teacher Mary Randolph. Conservatory Lab is part of a larger network of Expeditionary Learning Schools, which create their curriculum based on a set of core principles that encourage student-driven, interdisciplinary, project-based learning.
Classroom teachers Jenna Gampel and Rebecca Mason were among those selected to present, based on a rigorous application process. Each received numerous accolades for their presentations, which peers found to be engaging and inspiring.
