A Special Invitation to Play with College Musicians

Dear Conservatory Lab Parents,

Thank you so much for your support this semester. Coming off the heels of a great winter concert, I would like to invite your child to take part in a great program at Longy during the first part of the new year. A number of students currently take part in this program and I would like to invite your child to take part in this exciting program – which is completely free of charge to participate!

Longy’s Side by Side orchestra provides an opportunity for youth musicians within the Sistema community of Massachusetts to take part in a State-wide orchestra program in which they rehearsal and perform with Longy Conservatory musicians.

Students gather for 3-4 weekend rehearsals and present a concert of exciting and challenging music and connect with so many other youth musicians from all over Massachusetts. In the next session, we are planning to play a beauty and fun piece called Danzon No. 2 – I highly recommend you watch this video of Gustavo Dudamel playing this piece. You will love it!

There is an online registration form which takes only a few minutes to complete. Check the dates and make sure you can attend all rehearsals and performances before registering.
