Breaking New Ground – A Special Message From Founding Chair Kitty Pell

Conservatory Lab Charter School has secured funding to begin construction for its new Upper School, to be located at 395 Columbia Road in Dorchester. Conservatory Lab will celebrate this milestone on May 6th at 5 p.m. with a community-wide groundbreaking event which will include performances by the students and keynote remarks by City of Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh.

The approved project will involve the construction of a three-story, 43,500-square-foot school building that will serve as a permanent location for approximately 275 Upper School students, grades 3-8. Occupancy is expected in late Summer 2020. “After moving five times since its founding 20 years ago, we are now almost home,”  CLCS principal Nicole Mack commented enthusiastically. “We are so grateful to our visionary donors and trustees for making this dream come true.”

The new school building is part of Conservatory Lab’s firm commitment to surrounding neighborhoods and intent on attracting diverse populations of students to the Conservatory Lab experience.
